While already a well-established analysis technique, gas infrared absorption spectroscopy is gaining in popularity over the years in various fields of applications, such as air monitoring, exhaust emission control, specific gas detection and many more. Molecules in gaseous state exhibit much sharper spectral features compared to condensed-phases samples, and thus require an analyzer with improved resolution. Additionally, the gas or vapor subject to analysis must be contained in a dedicated volume, in which the light-matter interaction will occur. For that purpose, Arcoptix offers a high-resolution FTIR spectrometer coupled to a matched gas cell that enables collecting high quality and reproducible absorption spectra of gas and gas mixtures.
he Arcoptix GASEX is our OEM FTIR module for gas analysis. Our FTIR OEM010, with a resolution of 0.5cm-1, is coupled to a low volume (0.2L), heated (up to 200C) gas cell. The cell is coated with rhodium and gold, making it extremely resistant against most aggressive chemicals including acid gases. The gas cell can be single-pass, which corresponds to an optical path of 20cm, which is well suited for high concentration gases. Gases with low concentration (ppm down to a few hundreds of ppb) are better analyzed with our multiple reflection cell, which offers an interaction length of 5m. Despite multiple reflections, the overall transmission of our 5m long cell is better than 50%. The GASEX OEM is a rugged, compact and highly reliable unit that was designed to fit in an industrial environment or be integrated for instance in a complex monitoring system.
The GASEX MODULAR is a rackable unit in a 19” chassis that integrates a GASEX system as well as standard accessories for gas flow monitoring and control (pump, mass flow controller, pressure monitoring etc.). Compared to the GASEX OEM, the GASEX MODULAR offers a more user-friendly interface and additional control tools that make it the ideal solution for a laboratory or research environment.
